When it comes to complex care, there is a misconception that an individual with such high acuity healthcare needs can only be treated in hospital. This is not so. With the right team of qualified and licenced nursing staff in place, individuals with complex needs can absolutely be safely and effectively looked after at home.

Being able to be near loved ones has a positive impact on individuals with ongoing healthcare requirements. As does being in their own surroundings. And it is often much more cost effective long-term, as well as enabling hospital settings to be reserved for those needing shorter-term inpatient care. An example could be where an individual has an illness, injury or surgery. Once they are stable, it should be the absolute priority for hospital staff to work with an experienced team such as ourselves, to get that patient back home again with a full care package in place.

What is a complex care package?

Just as every individual is different, so too are their health and wellbeing needs. That is why we pride ourselves on developing a bespoke package of care for all of our patients. No matter the complexity of their health conditions, we work with them to ensure they have a comprehensive care package in place.

We also liaise with other healthcare professionals responsible for their ongoing care. This means the individual and their family can be confident they are receiving the very highest quality of support.

What are the benefits of receiving care at home?

Own surroundings:

We find clients are often more comfortable receiving care in their own surroundings. Being able to see their loved ones without limits on visiting times is especially helpful.

Consistent care team:

At Belgravia Healthcare, we train a specialist team to provide the care for each client. This means they will get to know the carers coming into their home, and build up trusting relationships with them. This contrasts starkly with the ever-changing teams who may be present in a hospital or residential care home setting.

Personalised care:

Each care package is tailored to the individual, meaning there is no generic ‘one size fits all’ offering. Care is always provided on at least a 1:1 basis meaning the focus is on you and your needs at all times.

How can complex care be provided at home?

Complex care at home is reliant on specifically meeting the needs of the client. This means ensuring that every individual involved in the care of the individual is trained to the very highest standards. Also that this training is tailored to meet the client’s needs and conditions.

This means whether the client has respiratory, feeding, communication or any other type of health requirements, we can be sure that their team is able to capably assist them. The focus is on ensuring the very best outcomes for every single person, no matter the complexity of their health conditions.

What training is provided to carers?

We pride ourselves on the highest standards of training, especially given our association with the UK-based Komplex Group.

All of our dedicated staff have access to the bespoke, industry-leading training provided by their in-house Training Academy.

In addition, we have a team of DHA-licensed nurses who oversee all of the care and training provided to our teams.
